Welcome to Heyday Riot

This adventure started as a well-intentioned Christmas gift a few years ago. My teenaged son decided I needed a new hobby and gifted me a humungous gift bag of crocheting supplies (that I had no idea how to use). At first, I thought, "How hard can it be?"

Enter chaos.

Up until that moment, I had never met a craft I didn't like, but that was before I spent over a year wresting yarn like it was a wild animal and weeping over the mechanics of the magic ring. I watched hundreds of tutorials that made no sense, frogged the same project fifty-seven times, and seriously began to question all my life choices. Crochet and I were enemies -- until suddenly we weren't. One day it clicked and I fell headfirst into a full-blown obsession.

Heyday Riot is a lot more than yarn and hooks. It's a handmade haven for all my crafts --the things my pent-up creativity unleashes after a long day at my full-time job. Everything here is handmade by me (and I have the wrist pain to prove it!)

You should know, I have the attention span of a caffeinated squirrel and always crave novelty--so I rarely make the same thing twice, or the same way. Heyday Riot embraces the chaos. We're all about bringing much-needed glitter sheep into the world. This is not a factory, and I have no aspirations of becoming a robot. For me, the fun is in the discovery, the color, the texture, the "what happens if I try this?" of it all. Every piece in my shop is a little experiment, a little rebellion against sameness, a burst of soft chaos. As such, everything here is one-of-a-kind and completely unique.
